The whole province has 14 lines of river, 8 of which are managed by the State with total length of 200.5 km, the other 6 lines of river are managed by the province, total length is 119 km. Along the rivers is a network of sightseeing, famous landscapes, cultural historical vestiges and many other features creating attracting tourism. Exploring waterway tourism for bringing into play existing potential for the province and the country is the concern of tourism agents and tourists.

Hai Duong province has ancient cultural tradition with many talented persons to bring fame for our province as well as our country.  There are many kinds of arts and traditional culture kept inside it.

Coming to Chi Linh district, you will see endlessly extended mountains and hills with green trees and forest. In Chi Linh, there is beautiful scene, natural lakes, cultural vestiges such as Phuong Hoang Ky Lan (Phoenix and Unicorn) mountains, Con Son - Kiep Bac sightseeing... They are all suitable for tourism, picnics, claimbing mountains.

Kinh Mon district has a lime rocky mountain area which is composed by exciting caves and caverns with traces of people in the Neolithic era. An Phu mountain stands imposingly with An Sinh Vuong Tran Lieu temple and Hero Tran Hung Dao statue. Tourism sites are enriched with charming natural sights, rich villages with Northern cultural tradition which is suitable for ecological tourism development, relax, village tour and science research. By the end of 2005, Hai Duong province has had 1,098 historic cultural vestiges, 147 of which are ranked by the State. All vestiges are accompanied with folk and traditional festivals, making a motive power and strong point of Hai Duong province tourism development.

Currently, waterway tourism is still not in specific development plan. It is still done as a natural activity. Hai Duong province's tourism sector is researching for building waterway tourism lines matching with Red River delta area's tourism net. Hai Duong tourism is still not developed, not matching with the potential. There is not any tourism company in Hai Duong province intending to make business with waterway tourism. It is caused by lack and backward infrastructure, material facilities as well as industrial establishments, tourism service, and unprofessional tourism workers. The first thing to do for Hai Duong province's tourism sector is raising the awareness of people, determining suitable measures to effectively explore waterway tourism; simultaneously investing in infrastructure, material facilities and industrial establishments, setting up kinds of tourism services... As a result, our province will have ports, tourism ships and boats with full facilities and services such as entertainment, shopping, restaurants...
